Exact Shape Calculation Override

If the CTRL key is pressed when clicking ADD/SUBTRACT/MERGE on the Shape Editor the shape is recalculated with the exact angle on the form rather than being interpolated from a median value. The difference will be most noticeable on curved irregular shapes with a large angle set. For most cases this option will probably never be needed.

3D View Settings

The File Options form provides options for setting the colors used for the 3D View background and also whether the XYZ origin is drawn by default. An option has been added to show 'Toolpath Operations' section when the Preview toolpaths form is open. This is off by default but can be switched on from Edit > Options.

3D Model Slicing

The new 3D model slicing feature allows the user to divide the Working Model into multiple Z-Slices that can each be machined and assembled to produce a finished project thicker than the available material or Z gantry height on the CNC machine.

  • Fully automatic process that creates multiple 3D components each equal to the specified Z thickness.

Export Grayscale Image

A 2D grayscale representation of the 3D Aspire model can be saved as a 2D image file for use with machines and processes that convert grayscale images to 3D.

Improved 3D Sculpting Tools  

Aspire 2 includes improved interactive sculpting tools that provide increased control and flexibility when editing 3D designs.

  • Pressure Sensitive control when using tablet and pen such as the Wacom range.
  • Control the strength of the sculpting brush by pressing harder or lighter with a pressure sensitive pen.
  • Easier, faster and smoother workflow.

Note - The pressure sensitive sculpting functionality will only work tablets and pens that incorporate this functionality.
