Free Project of the Month - Welcome Plaque

This Rustic Welcome Door Plaque will add homespun charm to the entrance for your house or holiday cottage! A simple silhouette of a cabin and the vertical welcome board will help to greet vistors and make them feel at home. The heavily-grained texture is entirely vector-based. Sets of irregular vectors were automatically generated with the “Create Repeating Vector Texture Tool” in VCarve (also in Aspire).

Two groups of vectors were profiled-on with a v-bit. Each vector group was set at different depths to yield the rough and weathered appearance. Very effective and quicker to machine than a 3D texture.

Available for VCarve & Aspire 8.5 Users.

Case Study - John Crosetti

At Vectric we love to browse forums and see what the Vectric community is making and this is exactly how we stumbled upon the work of John Crossetti. Whilst rummaging through the Camheads forum we came across a great fully functional geared clock which was made using Aspire. Really impressed by this, we contacted John to see if he would let us showcase such a creative project, thankfully he agreed and also sent us photos of many other interesting projects that he's worked on too...

User Group Projects - Blog Update

There is a wide variety of topics being covered at this year's meeting from strictly 2D to detailed 3D modeling. The team who are presenting at this year's meeting recently updated our Vectric Labs Blog to display the parts they have been cutting on our own CNC's. These are cut to test the ideas behind the presentations and create a set of samples we can bring to the meeting.
