Free CNC Projects

Vectric's free projects come complete with thorough documentation, including an item checklist and step by step instructions. A downloadable zip file is also available containing the actual project files ready for you to import and use with your Vectric software!

These projects are designed to both inspire and educate our users, and every month we will be offering a new project for you to work on!

IMPORTANT: Before outputting any toolpaths you should carefully check all part sizes and the material setup to make sure they are appropriate for your actual setup. You should also check and re-calculate all toolpaths with safe and appropriate settings for your material, CNC machine and tooling.

"Shoe Cubby" - March 2013 This month's free project is an attractive 'Shoe Cubby' that can be configured as a 2-tier or 3-tiered unit. "Candy Duet"- November 2012 This month's free project is a customizable container with two compartments ready to store a variety of items, such as sweet treats for the festive period! The Candy Duet measures 5.5" deep x 11" wide x 4" tall and is compatible with both VCarve Pro 6.5 and Aspire 3.5 .

"Cool Cubes"- October 2012 This month's free project is a customizable lift top cube that comes with three pre-designed ready to cut files. Each 'Cool Cube' measures 4" x 4" x 4" and the project is compatible with both VCarve Pro 6.5 and Aspire 3.5 .

"Trout Bookends"- September 2012 This month's free project is a pair of 3D trout bookends that comes complete with two free .3dClip trout models. The project is compatible with Aspire 3.5 .

"Victorian House Plaque"- August 2012 This month's free project is a decorative welcome plaque that comes with interchangeable designs that you can customize to display your very own message. The project is compatible with VCarve Pro 6.5 and Aspire 3.5 .

"Seahorse Corbels"- July 2012 This month's free project is a pair of "L" framed seahorse corbels with a coral motif surround. The decorative project measures approximately 8" deep x 11" tall x 2 ¾ " wide and is compatible with Aspire 3.5 .

"Ornithological Abode"- June 2012 This month's free project is unique mechanical theme bird house. The creative project (shown to the right) boasts a 'faux' aged metal finish and measures approximately 17" long x 11" tall x 9" and is compatible with Aspire 3.5 and VCarve Pro 6.5 .

"Grocery List Plaque"- May 2012 This month's free project is a decorative v-carved plaque designed to hold a grocery list and pencil which would make a handsome addition to any kitchen wall. The final piece measures approximately 9¾" x 17" x ¾" and is compatible with Aspire 3.5 and VCarve Pro 6.5.

"Rose Carved Disc Vase"- April 2012 This month's free project is a reversible wooden vase. This project includes a stemmed rose model as part of the design. The final piece measures approximately 8" wide x 6½" tall x 1¾" deep and is compatible with Aspire 3.5.

"Vectricon Chroniker"- March 2012 This month's project, created by Michael Tyler for Vectric, is a Victorian inspired time piece with a faux metal finish. The project measures approximately 14¾" x 10½" x 4¼" deep and is available to all Aspire 3.5 and VCarve Pro 6.5 users.

BONUS PROJECT - "Round Weave-Top Box"- March 2012 This bonus project, created by Michael Tyler for Vectric, was inspired following a weave presentation an Aspire Camp. The creative box measures approximately 8" in diameter x 4" high and is available to all Aspire 3.5 users.

"Buffalo Nickel Coin Box"- February 2012 This project, created by Michael Tyler for Vectric, was inspired by the original "Buffalo Nickel" released in the US in 1913 and is available to all Aspire 3.5 users. The unique coin box measures 10" in diameter by 3" thick and the coin-access base is approximately 1.5" tall.

"Coeur d'Amour" Box - January 2012 The first free Project of 2012 is a romantic 'Coeur d'Amour' (French for 'Heart of Love') box for Vectric's Aspire 3.5 and VCarve Pro 6.5 users. This project would make an ideal present for a loved one on Valentines Day or as a sentimental gift for other occasions throughout the year.

Mail Repository - December 2011 This month's project is a decorative 'old tyme' Mail Repository designed to help keep your mail organized and easily accesible. The customizable project comes complete with three pre-designed receptacles for Letters, Accounts and Variant (miscellaneous) mail items and is compatible with Aspire 3.5 & VCarve Pro 6.5.

Christmas Holly Wreath - November 2011 The November project is a 17" diameter Holly Wreath. There are two versions of the project, one with a pocket recess for the carved bow and one without the bow for those who want a simple ornament or would like to add their own decoration. This project is compatible with Aspire 3.5.

Business Card Holder - Bonus Project This Vectric project was inspired by a previous project called the Wooden Hinged Photo Frames. The idea was sparked after noticing that the photo frame layers could easily be modified to create a simple and attractive business card holder. This project is compatible with both VCarve Pro 6 and Aspire 3 (or greater).

Seasonal Cookie Stamps - October 2011 This seasonal project allows you to produce up to 9 unique Cookie Stamps. It comes complete with a storage rack and a detailed recipe to get you baking straight away! This project is compatible with VCarve Pro 6 and Aspire 3 (or greater).

The Shoe Butler - September 2011 This customizable storage box provides an appealing location to keep your shoe care supplies, with a rotating up/down handle and two dowel-hinged lids for convenient access to either side. This project is compatible with Aspire 3 (or greater).

Wooden Hinged Photo Frames - August 2011 This project demonstrates how to create slotted photo frames with integrated wooden hinges. Each frame will hold a 3½ x 5 photo with a clear plastic protective sheet and cardboard backing. This project is compatible with both VCarve Pro 6 and Aspire 3 (or greater).

"The Reader" Magazine Rack - July 2011 Stow your magazines with "The Reader" Magazine Rack project. Customize the magazine front and back cover text with your own wording using Aspire 3's handy Text Tool and Distort Between Two Curves option. This free project is available to all Aspire 3 owners

"Vintage Wooden Spoon Wall Rack" - June 2011 This project was inspired by a 100+ year-old, hand chip-carved silver spoon holder wall rack of Dutch (Frisian) origin. This near-replica project can be enjoyed by VCarve Pro 6 owners and Aspire 3 owners alike!

"Tuscan Grape Clock" - April 2011 Bring a little 'fruit of the vine' into your home with this decorative and functional project for Aspire 3 owners! The Tuscan Grape Clock project was inspired by the "art palace of Italy", Tuscany. Created by Michael Tyler for Vectric, all Projects come complete with a detailed PDF tutorial and all supporting Vectric Software files to help you get started.


"The Paradise Box" - March 2011 This month's Vectric project features a highly decorative "chip carve" motif and can be enjoyed by VCarve Pro 6 owners and Aspire 3 owners alike! The design is a blend of elaborate detail along with the mortised contemporary side panels to make a nice addition to any decor.


Valentines Day Project - February 2011 This project takes you through all the steps needed to make a beautiful Valentine gift using Aspire 3. It covers the entire process, from design to finished piece, and should be appropriate for any skill level. There are lots of useful tips and tricks along the way that we're sure you will be able to apply to other projects in the future.
