Something else I've been meaning to ask....
Why doesn't the fillet tool always work (for me anyway)
I have had it a few times, but just worked round it thinking it was my drawing skills, or lack of.
Today I wanted to make a simple bracket, I drew 2 rectangles, welded them together and tried to fillet the corners.
One of them worked, the other won't.
I'll redraw it & make it work, but why?

Re: Fillets
Hi Tim,
I just tried to recreate your error and it did not work for me either, I drew 2 rectangles and with the scissors cut away the overlapping parts.
This means however that the remaining parts look as if they are connected but in fact they aren't....
Use the 'close vector' command to connect them and then fillet will work )
Have fun,
John

Re: Fillets
Thanks John,
I had made sure all the vectors were connected,
checked Model, Select all open vectors - none,
zoomed in as small as it would go and all looked fine.
just to make sure I clicked "join open vectors" several times.
If you look at the file you'll see that when you click on the object it is "whole"
So thanks again, but I'm sure there's more to it.

Re: Fillets
If you zoom in on that corner and use node editing, you will find there are actually two nodes - one on top of the other. In the picture I have moved one away to show the two nodes. Delete one of the nodes and the fillet tool will work for you.

Thanks Tim,
guess I didn't zoom in close enough!
Strange though, I drew it again in the same way and it worked.

Re: Fillets
Just zooming in wouldn't help in this case as the nodes were directly on one another. That is why I moved one and that revealed the one under it.
I use the same process frequently to create shapes and have never seen this before. Must of been just one of those things.
