Total Length = 8"
Diameter of Globe = 2-1/16"
Total Weight = 0.8 oz
Loquat Wood (turns / carves great, looks plain at best (not that you can see any of the wood anywhere....)).
Finish is SN Copper B with Tiffany / Powder Blue patina. Buffed patina off high spots to reveal copper for highlighting.
Hollowed globe to 1/8" wall thickness. Carving reduced minimum wall thickness to 1/16".
Decorative carving on globe and spiral on icicle were designed in Aspire and carved on my Digital Ornamental Lathe. Ornament cap, hollowing of globe and bottom of icicle were done on a standard lathe.
Hanging loop is stripped copper electrical wire.
Merry Christmas (a little early).

Re: Copper Christmas Ornament
Could you explain a little more about the painting? What is SN Copper?

Re: Copper Christmas Ornament
Thanks for the compliments.
Tim - Finish is patinated metal reactive paint (details in original post and in response to John below).
John - SN = Sculpt Nouveau. They sell various metal reactive paints and premixed acids / salts / pigments to patinate. Search for their website online if you are interested. They have a lot of informative videos. I have no connection to the company. Just like their products. Alternatives are available. Including making your own from scratch.
Mark - The wood is Loquat. It's a fruitwood that grows locally in South Florida. It's not commercially available as far as I know.

Paul - Thanks for introducing me to Sculpt Nouveau and answering my questions in Memphis. I left that meeting very inspired.
