Woven Ellipses
Woven Ellipses
I am working on a sales sample for some builders. It is some interwoven ellipses that will hopefully captivate their attention. We shall see!

Re: Woven Ellipses
Those look gorgeous, Chris. Coincidently, I am attempting to do the exact same thing. You know what they say about great minds . . .

Very nice Chris. What exactly are you carving? PVC?

That looks great, Chris. Should be an easy sale.
What bit(s) are you using to get those nice sharp inside corners?

Re: Woven Ellipses
I cut 1" MDF... I used a 1/8" tapered ballnose and chiseled out the corners to sharpen them up.

These are really nice. What is the cutting time to make one of these?

I had 2.5 hours of cut time in this for roughing, finish, and all of the profile clean up cuts. I used a pretty tight stepover (10%) on an 1/8" ballnose so it could have gone faster if I wanted to sand a little more.
