Christmas Nativity Scene

Post by zeeway »

I am not sure where this original image came from - it's been on my computer for a while. I cleaned it up, and added one or two elements to it, including the star. In fact, the v carving was working well until it came to the star, which it chipped off major chunks. So I had to make a separate star and glue it on.

The front piece wood is maple...two pieces glued together, and back is mdf. Finish on maple: two coats of shellac, followed by dark brown gel stain rubbed into the crevices, followed by more shellac.

Merry Christmas to all,

Angie

Thanks, George...

Who knows what's on my computer...I see things that I must have for a future project, and then I'll forget about them. This was one of those.

I made an 8 ft x 8ft one of those for out in front of my parents house. It amazes me the amount of people who come into my store and say they saw it and wonder where they bought it from.
