sea chest

Post by USCG »

Made this sea chest from cherry. The hardware is from an online woodworker's supply company...not the highest quality but it was what the customer wanted.

The eagle, carved in Aspire on the front, is the device worn on a Coast Guard commissioned officers hat. The chest is designed to where the removable shadowbox will self center when placed in the sea chest. The chest is essentially constructed of raised panels.

I have about 40 hours of modeling time in the eagle...really pleased with the degree of detail in the finished carving.

Great job. That's a very good eagle, as well.
