This is a variation of a cross my wife and I saw in Honduras several years ago. I first did these a pure cut out of the letters, but they were somewhat flimsy - so I changed it to back up the letters with a solid cross. I made 30 of these for door prizes for a church dinner recently, and they were well received. I cut them out of poplar, but I think cherry would also be a good choice. I used a mop sander and a ROS sander, and then shellac. They make good gifts and they are a reminder of the reason for the season...

Re: Cross for Christmas
Nice idea. Can't remember where but when I was surfing google for pictures, I came across a site with a whole bunch of items 'created' out of their own names. I think that would also be real nice in hard maple.
When I want your opinion, I will give it to you.
