Marble Top Coffee Table
Here is mt first paying gig that was done on my CNC. The customer had the marble top. I made all the parts with V-Carve pro except the center support. I probably could have done it with the wrapping gadget. The software that I use was easier. The center piece was done on a horizontal axis. I cut the mortises by hand with a mortising machine. I glued the top to the aprons with Gorilla glue.

Looks great, I'm sure you could do a few more of those.

Very nice indeed. I keep going back to look at the hubs on the center support.

Beautiful work!!!
How did you attach the feet to the center post? Mortise and tenon, dowels, biscuits or just glue?

Re: Marble Top Coffee Table
Thanks for all the very nice comments.
It was modeled after a Victorian era piece that the customer had in their living room. The top weighed about 40 lbs. so it had to be made with an adequate base to support the weight. The top is 18 inches in diameter and the table is 18 inches tall. The legs and top apron pieces are mortise and tenon joints, as well as the supports between the top and bottom pieces. The mortises on the center support were cut with the CNC. I cut the mortises in the legs and top pieces for the vertical supports by hand with a mortising press. It was easier than making a jig to use on the CNC.

May it be the first of many!
Victorian, eh?
You may be on to something with the popularity of "Downton Abby".
Season Two, Disk Two, Episode 7 exploited a Bombay style table that was exceedingly gorgeous.
I'd like to have a "conversation" with you about that!mrmfwilson wrote: The software that I use was easier.
