After an exciting 16 hour journey to the Embassy Suites Convention Center, Las Vegas, the Vectric team wasted no time setting up what we hoped would be the best User Group Meeting to date. The meeting was an overwhelming success with very positive comments from the 120+ in attendance.
By acknowledging feedback from previous events we made significant improvements this year which were welcomed by all, including dual drop down screens and a riser for the speakers to enchance visibility of both the presenters and their content. We also utilized the in-house sound system for better audio clarity and the seating arrangements were reduced to only four rows to ensure everyone had a clear view of one of the screens.
"The Vectric community is one of the most helpful and
positive groups I've ever encountered."
"Aspire’s simplicity is just elegant" Bill Wierena
"This was my 3rd UG meeting, and once again I leave full
of new potential techniques and ideas" Gary Liming
Customers were greeted with a delegate pack that included an attendance certificate, User Group DVD (which contains over 11 hours of video tutorials and project files) and an official Vectric tape measure. The audience got a sneek peek at the latest features due in Aspire 3.5 and VCarve Pro 6.5, including the integrated clipart browser tab, create arcs function, 3D cross section & sculpting enhancements, profile pass depths, and much more. Guest speaker Randy Johnson, Editor in Chief of American Woodworker Magazine, shared his leading edge knowledge on the ways that CNC's are being used across the US in a variety of applications, both traditional and contemporary. Michael Tyler one of our other guest speakers offered a free project (as above) and a very interesting insight into how he gains inspiration for the popular 'Vectric Project of the Month' and tips on how to never miss a 'thought provoking' opportunity.
The Embassy Suites venue provided good catering for the event's breaks, which doubled as an opportunity to view all the amazing show and tell pieces that made it to the event. With the creators in-house, it was easy to discuss and share production techniques face to face, a key benefit of attending these meetings. Vectric staff were also in high demand as users travelled with their project files for questions and advice.
The Vectric team were delighted with the response from the 2011 User Group Meeting and are thoroughly pleased with the decision to host this year's event "out west". The closing remarks by Vectric's Managing Director, Brian Moran sum up our thoughts on our users involvement and how important that is in the success of this year's User Group...
"We couldn't have made this possible without you, our loyal customers, your dedication and support really makes Vectric's product stand out from the crowd, thank you."
