Hi everybody.
Here is the first 3D sign I have machined on my Shopbot PRT 48x96 (4G) with PC Router, using Aspire.
I so far have done many stairs and furniture components along with many V-Carved signs but was anxious to machine a 3D sign.
The overall length of the sign is 10 feet. The bear thickness is 6 inches at the butt. I had to use Vectric's slicing option to machine the sign in two 3 inch thick pine slabs.
The already existing logo for the motel was retraced in Illustrator and transferred in Aspire.
The roughing bis was 3/8in. ball nose and finishing bit was 1/8 ball nose.
The finishing pass for the bottom slab took 14 hours to machine.
The right side of the sign was pocketed and V-carved separately.
I am more than pleased with the result not to mention the power and ease of use of Aspire.
Now that's powerful software that delivers tangible results.
You guys at Vectric sure know your programming.
Keep up the excellent work.
Thanks for looking.
