Wine Rack
Necessity is the mother of...well, you know the rest. We needed a wine rack and a version of this one shows up in a DIY video on line. I added the middle support to eliminate a bottle falling within the rack - don't ask me how I discovered that this was a good idea. So, if you liked Lincoln Logs as a child...or even as an adult...this may be the wine rack for you.
This one is made of cherry with a simple BLO finish. Of course, every project needs a little v-carving, right?

Angie,
If you don't mind, where did you get the plans for that?

Re: Wine Rack
Bob-
I came up with my own plan after watching a Ron Hazleton video about five times, and then I modded it a bit and added the middle rails. The long middle pieces that support the bottles are 3 inches by 24 inches; the short sides are 3 inches by 12 inches and 6 inches by 12 inches. If you are interested, I'll post the vectors.

I love the simple elegance. I would love to have the vectors, please.
BTW.... what is "BLO"?
Can't get it done in time for Christmas but maybe a daughter would enjoy a New Year's gift.
Mom would sure love making and giving it.
Thanks,
Barb

BLO is boiled linseed oil - just be careful when you use this stuff...

Re: Wine Rack
Here are the vectors for the wine rack. I cut all the parts to finish dimensions on the table saw, and machined the grooves and the bottle arcs on my machine. But you can obviously just cut entire parts, profile and all on your machine. You will need to adjust the slot width on all the parts to correspond to your stock thickness...my stock was .830 inches, so I added .015 and used .845 inches for the slot width. You may want to play around with this and use a tighter clearance.
I sanded the arcs on a spindle sander, and used a random orbital sander on the edges and the faces...then the BLO, which I left alone for about ten minutes, then wiped it off.

Very nice, that’s a very good and easy on the pocket gift. I like the simplicity of it, and the added mid rail is a real plus.
Thanks for sharing for files it all of us here on the Vectric Forum. I’m looking forward to building a few as well for next years gifts.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
