Another Happy Customer :)

Post by Mogal »

Well, I have aquired another happy customer (they're the best kind!)
I must say, I'm pretty happy with it myself. The wrenches are full size :D
There isn't anything special to the cutting... but if your interested, I'll post some info.

Material is MDF, the textured area was stained, the rest painted.
Steve's wife painted it.

Sorry for the poor pics... the ipod isn't known for its camera quality!

Thanks for looking!
Chris

Nicely done! The detailing on the wrenches adds great realism.

Good ideas there!

I've got to admit, I'm getting tired of trying to carefully paint edges of raised features in VCarve projects, like the wrenches in your sign.. I'm considering completely cutting out some sections, painting them, then gluing them back into pockets. Sort of a raised inlay. It sure seems as though it would simplify painting of details.

Thanks again!
Yes, I have thought about doing the same thing... some projects require a lot of hogging out material.
It could drastically reduce cut times, but then some parts are pretty delicate and gluing things back
together isn't any fun either... uhm... need to develop some new techniques

I'm still in hobby mode, and still enjoy the painting for now, but at a business level, with more production
I can see the painting not being fun anymore.
