Sporktula

Welcome to the Labs sessions!

Here at Vectric we all love to make stuff, so we thought we would share our inspiration, designs and the CNC process with our community by sharing the projects we make.

Each project comes with its own video for you to watch that tells the story of what we’re making from start to finish. Including technical software footage, machining the parts in the Labs, finishing the projects and we’ll even throw a few tips in based on our experiences.

Each project comes with the file(s) for you to download, along with a PDF document that highlights some of the key important steps to help you get through your project.

Go ahead and try out one of the projects out for yourself and share what you have made on the Vectric Forum!

Happy Making!

Hey, my name’s Tim Sway and I’m going to show you how to make something that I’ve called the ‘Sporktula’. This is something that I invented because personally I love multi-tools and I wanted to bring some of that into the kitchen. A few years ago before I had CNC technology I made one of these using a bandsaw... that one was actually called a ‘Spoontula’ - it was a gift for my wife. That was a hit, so I went back to the workshop, made a few tweaks and created the Sporktula version 1... but there‘s always room for improvement.

So, this time round I have added more functionailty to the Sporktula. The spatula head now has an additional hook for pulling the hot grate in and out of the oven, along with the pointed fork end for checking on your pasta. On the spoon side I’ve added this little rest, so when you put the spoon down on the kitchen top, so it doesn’t dirty your surface... you’ll see what I mean when you watch the video!

I hope you enjoy making this project as much as I did.

Thanks for stopping by and... be good!

Tim Sway
