Parish Pump Planter

I’m Michael Tyler and since January 2011 I have been creating Vectric’s Free monthly projects. I’ve made everything from spring wreaths and mantle clocks to snow sledges and cheeseboards.

Did you know there are already over 100 projects free for Vectric customers to take advantage of and we’re working on more every month! Each project comes with the file(s) for you to download, along with a PDF document that highlights some of the key important steps to help you get through your project. Plus all free projects since 2018 come with their own video that tells the story of the project from start to finish.

This project was inspired by Parish Water Pumps that were (and are) located at the heart of many communities throughout the world. It was the responsibility of each parish to provide water for its residents. This was achieved in many cases by means of a village water pump - a.k.a., the Parish Pump.

This Parish Pump Planter makes a nice home decor item and is sure to catch the eye of visitors and guests! The pump handle actually swings up and down in a pumping action, for no reason other than just to add a bit of fun and overall appeal.

I used Vectric Aspire software to create the Pump and Spout models, then exported a single merged STL model for import into Vcarve. A few features used in this project included import Bitmap, Rail Sweep, Moulding Toolpath, Inlay Toolpath, Drawing, and Node editing tools, Snapping features, Fixed Nudge, and the Interactive Trim.

Which Vectric software do I need to be able to open the free project files?
