This tip and trick was included at the User Group Meeting in 2015 held in the UK (Wootton Wawen, Warwickshire) and US ( Las Vegas, Nevada).
In this example we create an unusually shaped bowl with a very thin cross section. The design of the bowl is intended to make it look like a piece of cloth draped in the air. The first section involves creating a simple 2-Rail Sweep wave-shape and then copying and distorting it so it can be sculpted to create the flow of the cloth. The form of the dish is then created again using the 2-Rail Sweep and added to the cloth to make the overall shape of part. Once the top side is finished the file is saved and then mirrored, offset and inverted to create the underside. Finally we calculate the toolpaths on the files for both sides of the part.
