Scrapbook Cover

Welcome to the Labs sessions! I’m Beki, a Senior Application Engineer for Vectric. I love to make and I am here to provide you with a FREE monthly project that you can download and cut for yourself!

Each project comes with its own video for you to watch that tells the story of what I am making from start to finish. Including technical software footage, machining the parts in the Labs, finishing the projects and I’ll throw a few tips in based on my experience! Each project comes with the file(s) for you to download from your V&CO account, along with a PDF document that highlights some of the key important steps to help you get through your project. Share what you’ve made on the Vectric Forum.

In this project I show you how you can jazz up and re-use any scrap paper you have lying around and turn it into a dedicated scrapbook, journal or even a Valentine's gift! Quite often we reach out for new books to doodle, or take notes in, but why not make use of disused printouts or letters you may receive in the post and turn them into the pages for your new book. This is just another small way for us to think about how we can re-use materials for the good of the planet, and by creating a cover perhaps it’ll encourage us to re-fill it more with scrap paper than reaching out for a shiny new notebook.

The project itself is fairly simple; there are 4 book cover designs to choose from along with a Valentine-themed deck of cards cover, that could make a cute Valentine's gift for that special one in your life. The file is easily customizable and there are 3 toolpaths, VCarving for the designs and pocket toolpath for the binding holes, and a profile toolpath the cut the parts out!

Happy Making!

Beki
