Honeycomb Cottage Sign

Welcome to the Labs sessions with Nav! We love to make and share projects with our community and enjoy nothing more than providing you with FREE monthly CNC projects that you can download and cut for yourself!

Each project comes with its own video for you to watch telling the story of what we’re making from start to finish. It includes technical software footage, machining each part in the Labs and finishing the project, and as an added bonus, we throw in a few tips based on our experience! We would love to see what you turned this project into so download the files from your V&CO account then share what you’ve made on the Vectric Forum.

Spark is here and what better way to get started than with a free project that is quick, easy, decorative and customizable. In this project, Nav will show you how to use the powerful vector creation tools in Spark to help make a cosy looking cottage sign. This project will teach you all about how to create and edit vectors, as well as helping you take an image and making vectors from it for toolpathing.

This is a great place to get started, as this project teaches basic vector manipulation and creation, along with some image tracing to help bring your designs to life. Once you have those under your belt you’ll want to give customization a try. This project would be perfect for mother’s day or father’s day with a few simple changes!

After that, Nav will walk you through how to create toolpaths to cut this sign out so you can get from design to machine with confidence. Then it’s just a matter of popping on your favourite finish and just like that, you’ve gone from software to sign with time to kick back and appreciate your first project. So what are you waiting for? Spark up your life.
