Andy Bird Builds

Andy Bird Builds helps people make money with CNC, whether you’re doing it as a full-time job or a side hustle. Andy believes in empowering people by teaching them how to earn income using their skills and creativity. His mission is simple: to help you get paid for what matters most to you, whether that's making custom furniture, building toys for kids, or crafting jewellery.

The first project is this kids coin sorting board. The toolpaths I used in this project are pretty basic, but the results are really neat. This project is to teach kids about different coins and their value. Coins can be sorted into different trays all while learning their name, value, and what they look like. It's important to note that I designed this one for coins commonly found in the US. But it would be super simple to change the text and resize the coin slots for other coins as well. I went ahead and glued my coins in the slots so they can have a visual of the front and back of the coins.

For the second project, I made a round box with a texture on the lid. I created this project to demonstrate the texturing toolpath and double-sided machining. I made mine out of walnut, but any hardwood would work well here. I picture this box being used to store jewellery, like rings or necklaces. It would look really good sitting on a bathroom vanity, a dresser, or a bedside table. Or you can be the life of the next taco party you attend by being known as having the nicest tortilla storage container ever made.
