Michael Tyler – Critter Phone Stand

I’m Michael Tyler and for the last 7 years I have been creating Vectric’s Free monthly projects. I’ve made everything from spring wreaths and mantle clocks to snow sledges and cheeseboards.

Did you know there are already 83 projects free for Vectric customers to take advantage of and we’re working on more every month! Each project comes with the file(s) for you to download, along with a PDF document that highlights some of the key important steps to help you get through your project. Plus all new 2018 free projects come with their own video that tells the story of the project from start to finish.

This project adds some humor and whimsy with a choice of several silhouette-style “critters” to stow your cell phone on a shelf, bedside table, desktop or any other convenient location you wish!

The outlines were customized and edited in the Vectric VCarve software to be suitable for supporting most cell phone sizes.

The project samples are made from clear pine left natural with a clearcoat finish. You can opt to stain or paint the critters, or cut the parts from contrasting woods. There are lots of finishing possibilities!

A few of the software features used while designing this project included the Trace Bitmap, Drawing and Node editing tools, Snapping features, Boundary Create, Interactive Trim (scissors tool), Measure Tool and the Rotate Tool.

Which Vectric software do I need to be able to open the free project files?
