Wally Motloch präsentierte auf dem Vectric-Anwendertreffen 2015 eine Reihe sehr interessanter Projekte. Die große Auswahl an Bauteilen machte deutlich, dass Wally nicht nur kreativ ist, sondern auch gerne die Grenzen der Software und Techniken auslotet, um Dinge zu erschaffen, die er noch nie zuvor gesehen hat. Mit 71 Jahren ist Wally nun im Ruhestand (nachdem er als Prothesendesigner gearbeitet hat) und hat seine Zeit mit Kreuzworträtseln gegen eine Kopie von Vectric Aspire getauscht. Er verbringt seine Freizeit damit, faszinierende Designs zu entwickeln. Wally war schon immer ein traditioneller Handwerker, wollte aber seine Holzschnitzereien und andere Projekte noch weiter perfektionieren. Ausgestattet mit einer CNC-Fräse Shark HD2, einem Bandschleifer, einer großen Auswahl an Handwerkzeugen und Vectric Aspire, verfolgt er nun das Ziel, so viel Spaß wie möglich an der Holzbearbeitung zu haben.
Since starting to use CNC technology Wally has found that his work has higher levels of precision and that he is able to produce work in a shorter amount of time, leaving more time for finishing – as you can see from the images below that is time well spent. As long as Wally can get his hands on some material, whether that be from scavenging it from the outdoors or ordering it online he says he will continue to create even more crazy and unconventional projects.
